St. Patrick’s Day 2026 – Club Night
Operating A1A straight key (15-16WPM) on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17 (QRV circa 20:00Z UTC/GMT) on 20 & 40m at the Carrickfergus ARG Club station with callsign (GIØLIX) using an ICOM 7300 (Mark II) at 14dBW.
Several CW (A1A) QSO contacts made. Key especially chose for the occasion.

Presentation to John, GIØUSX (February 2025)

Carrickfergus ARG were pleased to gift a lifetime award to John, GIØUSX in recognition of his dedicated service over 30 years as Chairperson and to mark John’s recent retirement from the position. The award, presented by Brian, GIØRWO (left of the photograph) in February confers a perennial role for John who will serve as ex officio Emeritus Chair of the Group. Newly elected Chairperson, Bill, MIØCNI expressed his deep gratitude on behalf of members past and present for John’s enthusiastic and unwavering leadership, management and vision, and his extensive work in teaching and mentorship. Carrickfergus ARG is actively involved in the promotion of amateur radio and licence teaching and regular participation in many regional, national and international contests and events.
